So, has being in that relationship of yours brought you closer to God or taken you away from Him? If the latter is the case, it’s time to redress. God’s gift is always perfect. A God given relationship can only help you become better on your road towards perfection.
Nobody can take God’s place in your life (don’t give room for that). Our relationship with God is the most important relationship of all. From personal experience, I do much better relating with people when my relationship with God is intact. If you’re in tune with the Holy Spirit, He’ll lead you. He’ll teach you what to say or do and when. Things will move on smoothly like a properly oiled engine. Less stress.
Your partner(fiance or spouse) is supposed to encourage you to have a stronger relationship (and vice versa). If the reverse is the case, it’s either you’re with the wrong person or you’re not maximizing your potential. How’s it rolling in your relationship? Make amends where necessary.
