Daniel was an adorable young man. Daniel had proven himself to be diligent and disciplined. He was a leader par excellence. He was also skilled, wise and highly knowledgeable. Besides, he was good looking.
His boss, the king loved him.
Who wouldn’t love a man like that?
Well, sadly some people hated him despite all his good attributes probably due to jealousy or out of sheer insecurities or low self-esteem.
These haters conspired against Daniel. Even though they could not find any ‘sane’ reason to put him in trouble they orchestrated a web to catch him anyway.
They knew that he loved His God wholeheartedly and they took advantage of that.
They tricked the undiscerning king into making a law forbidding anyone from praying to any god or petitioning any man asides the king. They sure worked on the king’s emotions by making him feel so important.
Of course Daniel had a priority. And that was his relationship with His God. He wasn’t going to let any law of man make him miss out of the Beautiful fellowship he constantly enjoys with His maker.
This definitely wasn’t the first time he would make this kind of choice. He had chosen not to eat the King’s meat and defile himself doing that.
Yes, his haters caught him like they envisioned.
The king had no choice but to command that his favourite man be thrown into the lions’ den.
The king wanted to help Daniel but he couldn’t.
Yes, his hands were tied.
But God made a way.
Hallelujah!
I tell you today friend, God is going to show up for you when it seems you are at your wit’s end.
He is an ever present help in trouble.
He is with you in the midst of that storm.
Man may disappoint you but God will never.
Trust Him wholeheartedly from today.
Stop seeking help from men on the hills (influential people). Their hands get tied sometimes too.
Instead, lift up your eyes unto God Almighty; the maker of heaven and earth who is able to do exceedingly abundantly far above all you could ever ask or think.
His hands are never tied and can never be.
May the peace of God that passes all human reasoning be your portion Now and forever!
