You see, no one is left empty. No one has an excuse not to be relevant. We are the servants of the Most High God and He has given each one of us talents to trade with. There is no reason not to be productive because you have been given seeds with which to do whatever you want. It is then your choice whether you would plant the seeds for a greater harvest, or eat the seeds and be left with nothing.
Investing your talents will lead to an exponential increase. Imagine if you were given five seeds of maize. You can decide to pop it and eat (and you can’t even be satisfied) or you can decide to plant the seeds. Imagine the ripple effect that investment will bring about. You will not get the same number of seeds that you planted in the first instance. You will get the seeds back in multiple folds.
It is a foolish person that eats his seeds.
Like it was portrayed in the parable of the talents, I will infer that it is a more foolish person that hides his seed away.
He wouldn’t plant it neither will he eat it. So, of what use exactly is the seed that he is keeping away. Is it supposed to be an ornament for decoration?
There is a great probability that the seeds you hide away for a long time will lose its viability neither would it be good for food because it becomes stale. That way, you will be running at a loss. Maybe it would have been okay that you just ate the seed. Wisdom is profitable to direct. Utilizing the talents that God has given you is wisdom. Hiding the talents God has given you is foolishness.
This is a wake-up call for everyone who has been allowing her talents to lie dormant. Wake up from your slumber. Life is too short to keep procrastinating the use of your talents.
We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us. The night is coming, and then no one can work. (John 9:4)
Whatever you do, do well. For when you go to the grave, there will be no work or planning or knowledge or wisdom (Ecclesiastes 9:10)
It is high time you dug those talents from wherever you have kept them. It is time to get to work. It is time to make profit with the resources you have been given.
Instead of wasting your time coveting the talents given to another, you better begin trading with your own talents.
Instead of complaining, channel your energy into sowing the seeds you have been given. You might have been called to support the number one man or leading lady. You may have been called into an “Aaronic ministry”. Don’t let anyone devalue you because you are not leading the pack. A well-served man or woman is renewed and strengthened by your service. You are as important as the number one fellow. You are important in God’s eyes (and to Him) irrespective of the assignment you are given- leading or following.
Like the master of the servants in the parable of the talents did not inform them about when he would return to take account of what the servants had been given, our Master will appear like a thief in the night. He is coming back very soon.
“Occupy till I come” is the instruction of our Lord to us. He will require you to give account of all He gave you.
How far have you gone?
How much have you gained?
Is your Master going to be proud of you or be disappointed in you when he returns?
