A Working Relationship With God Births A Working Relationship With Man

The Word of God is health and life not only to our soul, but also to the marrow of our bones. God has taught me that His word is alive and powerful. When someone shares a verse from His Word, God wants us to actively incorporate it into our thoughts. We shouldn’t just read His Word but also ask God to make it abide within us.

Psalm 90:14 says, “Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.”

This verse talks about satisfaction. If we want satisfaction, we must be ready to invest. We can’t just decide one day and say, “Lord, I want to be satisfied with You for the rest of my days. I want to know the kind of love that is better than life. And I ask You to give it to me today,” and then expect that our needs will be met until we see Him face to face. It doesn’t work like that.

Our needs are a daily concern. We wake up every day and have new ones. When we spend time with God, He convicts us about our attitude and motives. We get the privilege of pouring out our hurt to Him. It’s a good opportunity to remove from our cup anything that is false comfort. We pour our heart out in order to make room for Him because He wants to fill our hearts with His love.

If we’re already full of our own anxieties and concerns, we don’t have very much room for Him. So it’s very important that we start our day pouring out ourselves and our needs to the Lord, allowing Him to meet us at the point of our needs rather than looking for others to satisfy the need.

I’m not talking about a ‘prosperity gospel’ whereby we ask Him for ‘things’. I’m referring to being filled with our heavenly Father Himself. Our prayer should be, “Lord, satisfy me. Not with crumbs under the table but from the feast You’ve prepared for my soul. I long for You, fill me.” Not just what You can give me, I want YOU.” When we begin to approach Him like that and ask Him to rid us of the lesser gods in our lives, He’ll not only fill that cup, He will overflow it. Only God can satisfy our souls.

One thing that is so incredible about allowing our Father to meet our needs first thing in the day is that our spouse or friend showers us with love later on, our cup overflows. But it’s not their job to initially meet the needs of our soul. Therefore, they enjoy the delight (and so do we) of causing this wonderful overflow. And what a difference that makes.

Want a better human relationship, work at a better relationship with God!

Verses that inspire:

Psalm 143:10- Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.

Hebrews 10:22-23- let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.

Psalm 5:11-12- But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.
Surely, LORD, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.

1John 4:16a- And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.

Marry God’s Friend

I have read and heard many people who advice that one thing that makes marriage work is to marry your friend. But this theory has failed many. They marry this so-called friend and he begins to act like a stranger. They begin to wonder where the person they thought they knew and got married to walked off to. I agree that it’s good to marry your friend, but the most important formula is to marry A Friend of God.
If that person is a friend of God, it simply means that he fears God. God is the centre of his life. His thoughts, actions and speech are controlled by God. A friend of God knows the laws of God. He honours God’s Words. A friend of God wants to do everything just to please God.
Only a friend of God will live with you peacefully. The Prince of peace is his Lord. It is a friend of God that will make sure you align with God’s purpose for your life. He understands that you are one and the same before God. It is a friend of God that will love you like Christ loves His church. He carries God on the inside of him. He is accustomed to the ways of God; the ways of God have become his ways. Man is fallible. Being your friend can change at any time. Being God’s friend is signing up for stability.
You have to be God’s friend too. Only then can the equation be balanced. Are you a friend of God?
God knows those who are His. Let him give you one of His friends to marry.
I pray God’s best for you in Jesus’ name!

Don’t Stop!

The story of Isaac in Genesis 26 is a story that challenges me in a marvellous way. It is a story of persistence. He was faced with all sorts of challenges. His efforts were being frustrated. He however was not frustrated. His enemies did all they could to make sure He did not achieve his aim. They kept pulling trouble with him.

They pushed and pulled him but he did not reach a breaking point. He had this quality that resembled that of a good elastic material. He always returned to status quo. He was always back to pursue his goal. He had a vision. His eyes were stuck on the prize. He was going to dig a well that belonged to him no matter what. He refused to be distracted. He did not give up. He was struck down but he wasn’t destroyed. He braced up and moves on to take over new grounds.

In persistence lies your strength. You must keep pushing. The harder you push, the weaker the obstacle in your way becomes.

I am here to encourage you today to hold on to your God-given dreams. Don’t you give up now. You’ve come too far to do that. God has not brought you this far to leave you stranded. Build up your most holy faith.
Don’t give up trying.
Don’t give up on that marriage.
Don’t give up on that child.
Don’t give up on that business.
Don’t stop! Don’t quit! Don’t give up!

Tell yourself,
“I am going to birth a life baby. I don’t care how many times this pregnancy has been tampered with.
I am a survivor.
I am an overcomer.
I will fulfill destiny.
I am not giving up.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Like David was told here’s the message for you today:
Pursue!
Overtake!
Recover all!

Go and win with Jesus!

I Will Lift Up My Eyes To The Lord

It’s easy to fall into the error of relying on human beings in this age and time when it seems like the tendency of you getting what you want is higher if you know people in ‘high places’.

The truth is that many have shifted their focus from God Almighty with whom nothing is impossible unto His handiwork.

To this end, many of us have become idolaters without even perceiving it.

Think about it yourself…

Once a problem arises, your phone is the next point of call. You surf through your contact list to see who should help you. You begin making several calls and your faith is in a man like you. Some even brag that they can’t have challenges in certain aspects. Even though with their lips they are saying, “God is in control”, what is actually running through their mind is “My uncle the Senator is in control”.

Many forget to ask God for His view. I have heard people say severally that “God will not come down from heaven, He will definitely use human beings”. Who says? Have you forgotten that He chose to feed Elijah by sending ravens to give him food? You need to stop pre-empting God. He chooses how and by whom He would wrought His wonders. Why not wait for Him to choose who He wishes to use to solve your problem? He definitely knows best. He never disappoints. If only you will trust Him.

Cease to trust in [weak, frail, and dying] man, whose breath is in his nostrils [for so short a time]; in what sense can he be counted as having intrinsic worth? (Isaiah 2:22 AMP)
From whom do you seek help?

In whom do you trust?

In God I trust!

But God Speaks

Why seek solutions to your problem from the created when you can go to the creator? Why seek answers from mere men? Why yield to the suggestion coming from whoever to go to someplace where they can carry out some divination concerning your challenge? Why bow to other gods?

And when they say to you, “Seek those who are mediums and wizards, who whisper and mutter,” should not a people seek their God? Should they seek the dead on behalf of the living? (Isaiah 8:19)

One major thing that makes it impossible for us to hear God speak to us is SIN. Sin creates a thick wall between ourselves and God. In science, we were taught that sound waves are transported by air. That’s why when you are locked up in a brick-walled room, you won’t hear a thing being said on the outside. Sin builds a sound-proof wall around us. Only repentance can bring down that wall. Just like God would not hear us when we live in sin, we also will not hear Him when He speaks. Sin is an ear-plug. You must let the blood of Jesus watch you if you must hear Him.

Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, That it cannot save; Nor His ear heavy, That it cannot hear. Then the Lord saw it, and it displeased Him That there was no justice. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear (Isaiah 59:1-2).

The Holy Spirit is whom we need to hear from God. He tunes our antennas to the frequency of God. It will therefore be impossible to hear God speak if the Holy Spirit is not in you. Before you start complaining that you can’t hear from Him, check yourself. The problem in the communication line must lie in you. God’s promise stands sure. He has promised that once we are endowed with The Holy Spirit, we will be in the know of the ‘hidden’ things.

“In the Last Days,” God says, “I will pour out my Spirit on every kind of people: Your sons will prophesy, also your daughters; Your young men will see visions, your old men dream dreams. When the time comes, I’ll pour out my Spirit On those who serve me, men and women both, and they’ll prophesy (Acts 2:17).

The issue with many is their inability to wait for God to speak to them. The ‘NOW’ syndrome has taken over many people’s lives. It is eating into the lives of many children of God today like cancer. They are so in a hurry that they decide to look for shortcuts. They choose to go to palm readers, card readers, sorcerers, etc. They don’t believe in the ability of God to do all things. They have forgotten that no one can help God. He is the All-knowing God. In Him alone lies the answers that you seek.

God has spoken once; twice have I heard that power belongs to God. In case you are still doubting that God speaks, I tell you today that He does speak. Jesus is the Way and the Truth. You want the truth, Jesus is the only Way to it.
