When You Meet Roadblocks In Your Way

Few days to the deadline I had set to get three new books ready towards the end of last year, the unexpected happened to me.

That was the first time I would have that kind of experience that left me practically in shock. . .

I had worked late into the early hours of the day that this happened.

I was set to continue my work on my system late that morning but I got the shock of my life when the notebook just wouldn’t boot.

. . . The system had obviously crashed.

My plan was to do a backup after the few corrections I had to make that day but the time never came.

My head kept spinning around. Was it my academic papers waiting to be submitted for publication or my archives of pictures that I had not backed up that I had to think about?

But what got me the most at that point were my books. Where was I supposed to start from?

But you know what? After the first ten to fifteen minutes of worrying about it, I just felt a kind of peace that I couldn’t explain. I was calm to the extent that I was beginning to wonder if I was okay.

My husband tried to check what was wrong later that day. He tried troubleshooting the system and punched in some commands but the system didn’t budge.

All I just kept saying was, “It is well”.

After several attempts without success, he had to pull the system apart the next day to get the hard disk out and see if he could salvage the situation. I even joked about how my notebook that I had loved for so long was undergoing surgery.

To the glory of God he was able to retrieve some files including the books. Even though most of the files were corrupted, I still thank God for His peace when I needed it most.

I felt it strongly in my spirit that the enemy was not in any way happy with what I was doing and he was trying his antics to discourage me from forging ahead with my mission.

I don’t know who this is for but peradventure you are set on achieving a mission and you have hit a roadblock on your way.

Don’t be discouraged.

The fact that it is a God given vision doesn’t mean it will be hitch free.

Be encouraged by the fact that God will never leave you stranded.

He might allow you to encounter a few hiccups in your plans but he will surely give you victory. In the end, you become a stronger vessel.

He is the all-sufficient God; He is sufficient for you.

He is able and will bulldoze the obstacles from your way.

You must know that it is normal for the enemy to always want to fight against God-given visions.

When the enemy hits you below the belt, retreat and gather strength to try again.

You just have to keep pushing.

The idea is never to give up.

Keep this in mind as you journey through this year.

Indeed, there is no source of greater nourishment than God’s Words. God’s Word is food to the spirit, soul and body of man. A balanced diet at that- the very best you could ever get served with. His Words are multi-dimensional. God’s Word serve as a source of satisfaction, joy, life, truth, peace, health, transformation, light, direction and every other good thing you can think of. The Word of God is an excellent map for life and how to please God.

The main aim is to encourage you to fall in love with God’s Words and spur you to search out the Scriptures by yourself and meditate upon them day and night. And not just be a hearer or reader of the Word but a doer also.

It is easy to claim that you are a Christian. But what makes someone a Christian in reality? A Christian is someone who lives like Christ. You are either a Christian or you are not. You therefore have just two options: Live like Christ and be called a Christian or don’t live like Christ and simply get yourself a different name entirely. As a Christian, you are expected to think, speak and act like Christ.

This book has been written to draw your attention to some aspects of a Christian’s walk that are sometimes overlooked. I will be sharing with you as I have been instructed by events that have taken place during my Christian walk too. Knowing full well that ignorance is not an excuse in the court of law, it will be an excellent step to get to know more about what The Master expects from you as a carrier of His name.

I am encouraging you through this book and as explained in line with the Word of God to live a life worthy of the name- Christian and to be a true ambassador for Christ by living right. Jesus Christ is the one who sets the standards for living for citizens of His kingdom. It is therefore imperative to give ear to what he has to say to you so that you can run this race of Christianity according to the rules and in the end not miss the reward.

It Wasn’t Easy

Happy #Song_day friends!

I will be sharing with you today, a song that I have loved for years… A song that reminds me of the depth of God’s love for me and mankind generally. This song by Cece Winans touches my spirit in a special way.

Jesus gave up His glory to identify with people of low estate.

…He died so that we might have life.

And the thought of how much pain Jesus experienced because of me keeps me in awe of His unfathomable love.

Yes, Jesus loves you!

Don’t let His suffering over you go to waste.

Accept Him as your Lord and Saviour today if you haven’t.

Re-affirm your love for Him today if you already have Him in your life. Live a holy life and don’t take the death of Jesus for granted!

Be blessed as you listen!

“It Wasn’t Easy”

Don’t think for a moment
I never felt the pain
You can’t imagine
The hurt and the shame
They put the nails through my hands
Pierced my side, please understand

It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it
It wasn’t easy, it wasn’t easy
It wasn’t easy but it was worth it
It wasn’t easy, it wasn’t easy
It wasn’t easy but it was worth it

I didn’t have to do it
But I did it anyway
’cause I really love you
So much I took your place
I died for your sins
Yes I’m the one
Don’t take it lightly
What I’ve done
It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it

I left my throne
My purpose was the cross
Shed innocent blood
I paid all cost

Be Involved In Your Children’s Lives

Involvement means crawling inside your kid’s head and heart and finding out what he/she is thinking and feeling. It means diving into the often-turbulent waves caused by emotions- both the child’s and yours.

This can be scary and uncomfortable. And that’s why so many parents run from involvement and withdraw to ‘safer’ territory. The sobering truth is that you can be in the same house, but be totally clueless about what’s really going on in your child’s life.

Connecting with your teenager may be the most demanding challenge of your life, and you won’t always see immediate results.

But sometimes, connecting can be as simple as walking into your child’s bedroom, sitting down and asking a few questions. Or taking your child out for a snack and letting him/her talk.

It’s a process that should begin early in a child’s life. In this present time when children don’t get to have enough time with their parents (majorly because of career and wanrting to make sure there’s food on the table), it takes extra-special grace to successfully be integrated into their lives.

Material things are good but your love and presence are worth much more. Be interested in their interests. Gain their trust. Be their best friend.

Ask the Holy Spirit for help.

When I was growing up, my mum practically knew everything going on in my life. Not because I told her but because it would have been revealed to her.

So when I say relying on the Holy Spirit is the way to go, I know just what I’m saying. See being involved in your child’s life as very important. Whether he/she is a toddler or teenager, work at building a great relationship with her/him.

When you pursue real involvement in your child’s life you follow God’s example:

“You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thoughts afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways” (Psalm 139:1-3)

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if our kids could say the same of us?

Grace be multiplied unto us in Jesus’ name.

Jesus Take The Wheel

I am totally in love with this song by Carrie Underwood. I fell in love with it right from the first time I heard it. . . And that was a couple of years back. It is one of the top five songs on my favourite play list. I listen to it virtually everyday.

It is a song of surrender to God. And we really need to remind ourselves to surrender all to Him on a daily basis.

I have decided to share this song with you on this Song-day. I am sure you will be blessed by it.

Sing along and commit yourself to God afresh today.

Ask Jesus to take over the wheel and drive you to safety.

Enough of trying to direct your life your way.

Let Jesus take over!

Give Him the reins!

“Jesus Take The Wheel” by Carrie Underwood

She was driving last Friday on her way to Cincinnati
On a snow white Christmas Eve
Going home to see her Mama and her Daddy with the baby
in the backseat
Fifty miles to go and she was running low on faith and
It’d been a long hard year
She had a lot on her mind and she didn’t pay attention
She was going way too fast
Before she knew it she was spinning on a thin black sheet
of glass
She saw both their lives flash before her eyes
She didn’t even have time to cry
She was so scared
She threw her hands up in the air

Jesus take the wheel
Take it from my hands
Cause I can’t do this on my own
I’m letting go
So give me one more chance
Save me from this road I’m on
Jesus take the wheel

It was still getting colder when she made it to the shoulder
And the car came to a stop
She cried when she saw that baby in the backseat sleeping
like a rock
And for the first time in a long time
She bowed her head to pray
She said I’m sorry for the way
I’ve been living my life
I know I’ve got to change
So from now on tonight

Jesus take the wheel
Take it from my hands
Cause I can’t do this on my own
I’m letting go
So give me one more chance
Save me from this road I’m on

Oh, Jesus take the wheel

Oh, I’m letting go

So give me one more chance

Save me from this road I’m on

From this road I’m on

Jesus take the wheel

Oh, take it, take it from me.

Oh, wow, ohhhhh.

Let Us Pray

I have seen things happen in the last couple of months and heard about a number of cases that points at the sourness of the country Nigeria. You practically hear complaints everyday from people around you. My heart bleeds for our dear country.

I have a strong push to ask you to join me in doing something very important today.

Shall we pray together?

We thank You dear Father for your love and mercy over us as individuals, families and a nation. You indeed God despite it all. You are faithful forever. You are a good and gracious God. We hallow your name. You are great and mighty.

Dear Lord, we come humbly before Your throne of mercy.

Have mercy upon us. Have mercy on Our families. Have mercy upon Nigeria. Forgive our sins of  idolatry and unbelieve. Forgive us of all presumptuous sins.

We ask that your mercy will speak for us in place of judgement.

We ask that the Blood of Jesus will wash us and our land.

We acknowledge that You are the only one that can help us.

Revive us again by Your great hand.

Restore all our lost glories.

Minister to all our needs.

Touch our lives.

Heal our land.

May we sing that there is a lifting up.

Turn again our captivity.

We have sown in tears, may we reap in joy sooner than we could imagine.

Thank You Lord because we know that You have heard us.

In Jesus’ powerful name we pray. (Amen!)
