The angel of the Lord appeared to Zechariah and told him as recorded in Luke 1:13, that his prayer had been heard.
This got me thinking. . .
I asked myself, “Which prayer exactly and when did he pray that prayer”.
I am led to assume that this priest, Zechariah was not praying for a child on the day the angel appeared to Him.
As a matter of inclination, I believe strongly that it might have been years since he had even stopped praying about their issue of barrenness.
His reaction to the angels message to him makes me believe that he had already given up on the matter. He probably had come to terms with his lack and had embraced his predicament with all sense of surrender to God’s will.
But God, decided it was now time to answer the prayers he had offered to God years before.
Glory!
Know this: The prayers of the righteous do not disappear. They are being collected and kept each time you offer them. They are actually seeds.
The fact that you are not “seeing the results” of your prayers now does not mean that you are not being heard.
In due season, God will attend to your case.
He will open His book of remembrance to your life. God never forgets.
He only works with time. He is the master planner and His thoughts and ways may just not align with yours.
I encourage you not to feel discouraged.
Keep sowing the seeds of prayers. And continue watering them with your love for God.
Be completely sold out to Him. Keep your faith in Him ignited and it will be counted to you as righteousness.
Soon, your blessings will blossom.
And whether you believe it or not, you can’t stop God from doing what He has proposed when the time is right.
Shalom!
