It was a Sunday evening… It had been a really tiring day for me because I had been up to several things that day while trying to get things sorted in preparation for the new working week.
After I finished with all I needed to do, I returned to the living room and laid down on the sofa. I had just finished reading to the children and saying my good night greetings. I wanted to do some stuff online and organize some of my write-ups that I intended publishing on my blog during the week.
I was just settling down to my brief evening moment alone with my mobile device when I saw the door open and in walked our son. He came over and asked to lay down beside him. I ordinarily wouldn’t have allowed him to stay up with me but I obliged him because I was taking a journey the next morning and would be away for a few days. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to spend the next few minutes together and then carry him to bed when he fell asleep.
Just a few minutes after he joined me on the sofa, I had the urge to fart 🙈 but because I felt too tired to stand up, I told our son to relocate; for his own benefit, as I was about to release some nose twisting gases 😂😂😂😂
I expected to see him flee (not run away from me) but his response shocked me: “I am not leaving you mom. You can fart here if you are too tired to stand up. I also fart smelly fart and you don’t run away from me when I do”, he said.
Chai! See love o… 😍💕
But don’t ask me if I released the gas right there or I excused myself because he melted my heart 😎
What would you do if a child covered in mud was running towards you when you are already gorgeously dressed for an occasion? Would you sweep that child into a warm embrace or stylishly avoid that child?
I guess most of us will take the latter option. And this disposition is reason many people today easily give up on their relationships.
You see, acceptance is key when it comes to building successful relationships.
People that stick with you even when you mess up are the real deal. They are with you not only during the good times but the bad times also. These kind are ready to work whatever it is you are going through out with you no matter how messed up you are.
This is true love at play.
Are you that kind of friend to those people in your life? Do you love them truly?
This is the kind of love that God has for you and I. He is not looking for the perfect ones but the imperfect so that He can make them perfect.
Jesus loves you too despite your messed up life. He has promised to be with you when you pass through the fire and the waters of life. He will never leave nor forsake you.
Do you think that your life is too dirty, ugly and scattered to receive God’s love?
Is your garment soiled with several layers of stains from adultery, fornication, lying, stealing, prostitution, abortion, etc?
God loves you as you are and longs to hold you in His arms.
Would you run into His warm embrace today and receive His provision of forgiveness?
He is standing… Calling out to you… Waiting for you to come.
Jesus says, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28 KJV)
Receive God’s offer of rest today by surrendering your entire life to Christ.
God loves you.
And I love you too!
